A Journey To The End Of Empire
“When the poet stands at nadir the world must indeed be upside-down. If the poet can no longer speak for society, but only for himself, then we are at the last ditch.”— Excerpt from,The Time of the Assassins, a study of Rimbaud, by Henry Miller

"Ink runs from the corners of my mouth
There is no happiness like mine.
I have been eating poetry.

It sometimes happens that there’s this ache dancing in the depth of my soul, a fever spreading through the bricks of my bones, a longing, carving its own path in the jigsaw of my being. And no matter how hard and long I search, I simply cannot find the spark that lit this flame that now burns through me. The answer Is as demolished as the ash it leaves behind. But I find I’m not alone in my misery, there is a time we all feel this way. When breathing the ocean air, and dancing under the forgiving blue sky is just not enough. When you yearn for the innocence of a child, finding the greatest pleasures settled in the folds of simple imagination. When you hold hope in your hands, and set it free to fall into the life of a more worthy soul. Maybe the answer is simply loneliness. The truth- burning the hole in the pits of your stomach that says your life is no longer intertwined in the folds of another’s, that you don’t need to worry about finishing all the chocolate or milk, or even the conversations you now have with those missing pieces. Maybe the answer is loneliness, and we all feel like this sometimes. So find yourself a lonely soul, that moulds in entirety with yours, and put the pieces back together.

visions of skin and sin and all the places we’re sinking in, i give in, i give in, rise with me again, blue enough to feel the rough and gentle grasp, breathing gasps as water pours against our walls, these bodies need a new now to expand the living spark of how we moved our mouths like empty words to fill each other with sacred sighs and pounding verbs…

"The masters of information have forgotten about poetry, where words may have a meaning quite different from what the lexicon says, where the metaphoric spark is always one jump ahead of the decoding function, where another, unforeseen reading is always possible."J.M. Why Hooping? “A hula-hoop Revolution”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
“We use the hoop to create spin; a circular force in the universe and in our lives, that produces energy. With the power of our hearts, we channel that energy into pure joy and creativity. The channeling process is fueled less by the mind and more by the heart. Indeed, hooping is part of an alchemical recipe that alters and transforms our bodies, minds, and spirits toward positive projection/ expression whether we are mentally aware of it or not. All we have to do is commit to the practice. Get in the Hoop. Step on the Mat. Open your heart. Stillness. Movement. Breath. This is one of the ways that hooping relates to other mind-body-spirit practices like yoga, ecstatic dance, and tai-chi. When you feel this force, and it begins to work on you, the impossible becomes possible. You have hope again. You believe that the world can be a better place and that your spinning with a hoop is critical input toward that goal. For me, hooping is a sweet trance that through practice, transports my body and inspires my mind to produce thoughts and feelings that support my health and well-being. When I am well, I am more able to love myself and therefore, to love you and to see and appreciate our connectedness.”
